Thanks everyone! Our RE's office only does IUIs in the mornings, so looks like it should definitely be an evening trigger - which thankfully means my husband will be home to do the shot :)

like the other, my RE told me when to trigger. it was usually 36 hours before my iui.

Our RE gave us a time frame too. We triggered between 7 and 10pm on Christmas Eve and had our IUI scheduled for 10am the day after Christmas. We ended up not doing the actual IUI until about 1pm but it still worked for us!

My doctor gave me a time frame - like between 5 and 8 at night when I was doing IUIs. For IVF, they give you an exact time.

Our RE also gave us a time to trigger based on the time of the IUI.

I didn't need a trigger shot for my IUI but I was given an exact time to trigger for my IVF cycle. I triggered at 11 PM Saturday for a 9 AM Monday retrieval. Good luck!

Mine was 36 hours before also. My husband did it the first time since I was nervous, but after that I did it. It wasn't as big a deal as I had imagined it to be.

@alie: my RE gave me a window (6-10pm) when they called with instructions. It was roughly 36 hours before the IUI.

ETA: also, my DH does my shots - I tried to do it myself but I couldn't get over the mental block! But seriously, it doesn't hurt. The needle is so tiny.

For those who've used Ovidrel or some other trigger shot pre-IUI, what time of day did you do the shot, assuming you had a morning IUI? I'm hoping/expecting to be triggering on Friday and having our IUI on Sunday morning.

Just trying to figure out when the shot will need to be done, and if I'll have to do it to myself (eek) or if my husband will be home to do it for me (also eek, but maybe better?)!
