@Mrs.Someone: Interesting -- I'm going to check out Circle + Bloom -- thanks for the rec! I've found that yoga has been helpful too, just staying present and thinking about making a healthy environment for a future little bean. Plus it's nice to do something for myself and just have an hour to relax and forget about everything else that's going on.

ETA Although I did just about burst into tears the day after my mc when our instructor told us she was pregnant. But I feel like that week I was just totally surrounded with pregnant people -- I guess I had a heightened awareness about it.

@Mrsk: I think its more anecdotal that anything, though I did once find an article that said its good to get pregnant within 6mo of a m/c. I don't remember the reasoning though. I wouldn't recommend getting your mind set on it happening right away, I built myself up the first time and had a really rough end of the month because of it. Also, I'd recommend trying Circle + Bloom's meditations. I'm going to start them up again today. They really helped me keep positive after m/c. They also have a free post-loss program to download, though I haven't been able to bring myself to listen to it.

@Mrs.Someone: I hope this time is very quick for you! I haven't really seen that much research about more fertile after mc, but it's a nice thought, one I'm holding on to, I thought I would be good by this point, but it's still such an emotional roller coaster, some days I'm happy that I'm on my way to trying again, other times I'm sad and angry because I thought I wouldn't have to be ttc again. I'm hoping my blood work results come back soon, and that nothing seems abnormal. Fx for us all!

@Mrsk: That's great that your doctor is doing testing first. Having a proactive doctor after m/c is important! I'm not sure how much I believe in being more fertile after m/c, but for all of our sake, I hope its true :) It took us another 6mo of trying to get a 2nd BFP (first try was 9mo), though we found out later that I have other issues. Hopefully this time is quicker!

@norcalwayfarer: I'm glad things seem to be back to normal for you, resetting is good, and fx for a may baby for you!

@mrs.someone: I'm on cd 3 too! I just got a round of blood work done, my dr had wanted to test a few things before I got pregnant, so we decided to do the blood work now, after the mc. Hopefully everything comes back normal! Fx crossed that this is our month! Other bees have said that people are very fertile int he few months after a mc, so good luck to the both of us!

Well it looks like AF is here today! Never thought I would ever say that, and I'm excited but with mixed emotions, it's good because the reset button has hopefully been pressed and we can start again, it stinks because I thought I was done with ttc for a while.

@norcalwayfarer: how is your cycle post MC going? Are you finding it different? The same? As previous cycles?

I missed this the first time around.

I conceived S right after a miscarriage, with no period in between.

When I was talking to the back up OB for my midwife at my 36 week appointment, the topic came up and she said that it doesn't make much difference if you had a natural miscarriage, and it's more for dating purposes than anything. Since they use ultrasounds, now, for dating scans, she said that it shouldn't make a difference, if you're mentally ready for it.

@NorCalWayfarer: hey there, doing ok, I'm in the waiting game too, thought AF was coming on Monday but turns out it was just some spotting. I just found my bbt thermometer, and have started temping again so I can hopefully i can figure out this cycle.... It's been tough, a few people have announced their pregnancies in the past couple weeks and it just plain sucks. Just a very big reminder... I'm happy for them and all, but the reminder and the pain is so real

How are you ladies doing?

I'm 25 days post early miscarriage. Last week HGC was down to 9. I'm tired of getting blood drawn so I think I'll skip this week. FF had me ovulating at CD17 but just bumped it back to CD22 so not entirely sure if/when I've O (I don't use OPKS, so just based on temp/CM). I don't think I've ever looked forward to getting AF, except for this month!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm very sorry for your loss. I miscarried at 7w and like you, was hoping to start trying again right away - after going through infertility I didn't want to waste any time. But I didn't ovulate that cycle and it took 3 weeks to get a beta under 5. FWIW, I was getting negative HPTs and OPKs for quite a while before my betas were actually negative. Hoping for a sticky baby for you as soon as your soul and body are ready for it.

I miscarried at 8 weeks, and even with a D&C it took 3 weeks for negative hpts. I'm an odd bird though, cause I didn't get a normal period back until the doctor gave me progesterone to sort out my cycle - so took over 12 weeks (I'm a minority though so don't let my experience discourage you!

I don't want to wait, either, but I'm not sure when my body will be ready. My cycles were actually very regular before this, so I have no idea what's going to happen going forward. :( Mentally, I'm ready to try; however I'm super scared this will happen again...

I had an early loss, and by the time I bled, the HCG was out of my system. We waited a month because I was emotionally devastated. We started BD again the following month; and got our BFP a couple months after that.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I miscarried at 9 weeks, had a D&C, and I also wanted to start trying right away. I took hpts til negative, then did opks. The opks came back looking positive for several days in a row, but i never got ewcm. I got my first period almost exactly 28 days after the D&C. I don't think I ever ovulated before that first period :( After that, I ovulated like clockwork (used opks) & things went back to normal. I conceived 2nd cycle after MC, but it was an early loss/chemical. 7 long cycles later, I conceived again & I'm now 14 weeks :) Actually my cycles were short, 25-26 days, but it definitely felt like forever! I hope this helps? I searched like crazy for success after mc stories so I know how you feel. Hoping for the best for you.

I too am 2 weeks past m/c, and it appears that I am either just about to ovulate, or just have (checking CM). I ovulated right on schedule after my first m/c too. Both losses were under 5 weeks, and HCG was gone by the time I bleed.

I know its hard to wait, but I do think its a good idea to wait a cycle to heal physically and emotionally.

Hi @MrsK -- I don't have any advice but am in the same boat. Early miscarriage 2 weeks ago and we're ready to try again. I'm getting my HGC levels drawn still and last week I was at 14. I'm 15 DPO and no signs of O yet (I'm temping and checking CM). I'm guessing that this cycle will be longer than previous (27-31) just because of the remaining HGC in the system. Not really sure if or when I'll ovulate so we're doing more of a NTNP than active TTC this month. Hoping once things regulate for a quick sticky BFP -- wishing you a quick sticky baby too! Thanks for starting this thread, I'm interested to hear what others have to say.

In sorry for your loss. How far were you. My understanding of waiting was bc your body needs time to heal before it can successfully carry again. That said I'm on cycle 5 post mc and my O is all crazy.

I'm so sorry for your loss. If the hcg is not pit of your system you won't ovulate. Your body still thinks you're pregnant so ovulation won't happen until hcg goes to zero. So even though based on the length of previous cycles you should be in a fertile window this cucle will likely be quite a bit longer than a normal cycle. We waited until I had one period after my miscarriage and then got pregnant right away. For me, I needed that cycle off for my mind and my body to get a rest. If I had gotten pregnant without skipping a cycle and then something happened I would have blamed myself so I didn't want to take that risk.
