@marionberry: thanks! At least point, I said, "screw it!" And so I'm drinking, even though I'm pretty sure I'm in the first day of my TWW.

@marionberry: That's good to hear. This month they have been spread out over some last night and all today. I thought maybe I was done with EWCM, but then there was a 'whole new batch' this evening. Who knows! I do know that I"m going to enjoy not being pregnant by drinking lots of champagne. Maybe that will do the trick. : ) good luck with your TWW!!!! I'm crossing everything for you!

I don't typically really get regular ovulation pains, but this cycle (with IUI and Clomid and HCG trigger shot) I had really strong ovulation (and possibly post ovulation) pains the day of my IUI and the two days afterward.

I think I might get them when O-ing is done. I noticed less EWCM this morning and I usually have a ton leading up to O. The past two days I had lots and it was quite noticeable. We will BD tonight anyway for fun and maybe we timed it right this month.

I would get the pains less than 24 hours before I got a positive on an OPK. I only got it while i was taking clomid, though, otherwise, i NEVER noticed them! But when I did, boy, were they strong! Good luck!!!

I'm going to do a big 'ole cut and paste from the very popular peeonastick website. I just read it the other day and found it interesting:

"18. My OPK results don't align with my ovulation pain. Is the OPK wrong?

Most women don't really feel themselves ovulate. ("I do!" you're exclaiming.) Probably not. ("But look at my chart! It only happens around ovulation!") Yup, happens to me too . . . and it may be occurring the exact moment of ovulation. But in fact, studies on mittelschmerz have shown that a woman is just as likely to have these pains days before ovulation (when the egg follicle is growing, or a build-up of mucus in the Fallopian tubes getting ready for ovulation) or after ovulation (the egg bursts out of its follicle with some force-- sometimes women will experience spotting or moderate bleeding at this time.) Yes, you may actually feel the egg burst out of its follicle at the moment of ovulation-- but you could just as well be feeling the pre- or post-ovulatory effects. Or that burrito.

Therefore, if your "ovulation pain" doesn't seem to jibe with the timing of your OPK, go with your OPK-- the presence of the hormone in your urine is a much better detector of ovulation than trying to make sense of twinges or tingles in your abdomen.

For what it's worth, feeling or not feeling "ovulation pain"/mittelschmerz isn't important; some women feel it, some don't, some feel it only sometimes, some are in major pain (up to and including emergency room visits suspecting appendicitis), some are "Hmm, I felt a little twinge." All are variations on normal, and don't mean you are more or less fertile or anything like that.

@Ash: Thanks....it sucks that it is just hard for all. I wish we could snap our fingers and be pregnant whenever we wanted. :)

@Grace: Thanks for that! I noticed on past charts that it did that, but those charts are over a year old now.

@Ash: I know...I sometimes wish for it to feel the same way, but then I freak out and don't want it to start the same way. I know I won't relax until we get past 20 wks. or later. Of course, anything past 20 wks will be uncharted territory since that's when we lost our daughter.

@Ash: Thanks! good luck to you guys! I hope it works out for you! I may try an opk in the morning and see. Luckily, the timing worked out when I was off this month. Hopefully it will work this month. The month we did get pregnant, we weren't paying attention to anything. : /

So, I get ovulation pains each month, but I don't regularly chart anymore. It stressed me out, plus I sleep with my mouth open, etc. I stopped when I was pregnant the first time.

My question to everyone is when/if you get these pains when do they occur in relation to ovulation? Is it before your temp spike, after your temp spike, never?

DH and I BD Thursday and Friday, I'm feeling the start of pains tonight, and I'll see him tomorrow. I am definitely going to jump him as soon as I see him tomorrow and hopefully we can catch something this month.
