We have the OXO seat you mentioned - we use it in our kitchen chairs and have had no issues with it scratching or messing them up. It stays put surprisingly well as my three year old climbs in and out of the chair, which I'd been worried about when we got it. My favorite thing is how easy it is to clean - the cushion pops out, so that's helpful.

We tried using it on some bar stools at my mom's house that have pretty low backs and it felt too unstable there, so I don't think I'd trust it on a backless bar stool - but we've liked it for regular chairs.

@PinkElephant: yes, kaboost! That’s the one. And yeah it’s big!

The other nice thing about the no belt booster is it’s easy to take it off when an adult wants to sit in that seat.

We used to have a non matching, hand me down stool at our counter, next to the backless ones we liked. Not a great looking solution but we were able to strap a booster seat onto it and tuck it in next to the rest of the stools. Now sadly we don’t have any counter seating and I really miss it!

@Foodnerd81: Thanks! Good tips! I've looked at those Kaboost things that go under the chair/stool before. They seemed useful for height, but we never tried them due to the real estate they take up on the floor. Right now the issue is less JUST about height, and more about the combo of height and width. The seats of our stools/are really oversized, and it's hard for her to find a spot where she "fits".

I don’t have that exact one, but i do have a booster with no belt or anything for my 4 year old. It works fine for her. My 2 year old likes to try to sit in it too and it’s tough for her to climb in and out or not be fidgety. I think for a 3.5 year old it would be fine.

I found putting a cheap seat pad under it helped it stay put and not scratch our chairs. I got this one and it’s helped- before that we did scratch the chair a little. https://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/60304471/

But it wouldn’t work on a backless stool. I don’t really know that anything would. My friend has this riser thing that raises it from the bottom so the seat it just higher. But it’s pretty wide and would be easy to trip on depending where you have that stool.

Anyone have one of these? Yay or Nay?

We just got a new kitchen table, chairs, and bar stools for the island, where my 3.5 and 5.5 year old eat many of their meals. The stools are backless, so they no longer support the Graco Blossom boosters we used to use. The 5.5 year old is fine without a booster, but we're finding that the 3.5 year old just doesn't fit well in the generously sized stools/chairs, and it's causing her to be up and out of her seat at meals. I don't really want to put the Graco on our new chairs, either - I feel like it will scratch the seat/back, and will look ugly.

Does anyone have the OXO Tot Perch boosters? The one without the belt? I'm wondering how well they stay put on a chair seat (no sliding around), if you've had any issues with the booster scratching your furniture, and how easy it is to clean. Thanks!!
