@Mrs. Lovejoy: That is encouraging about the sleep! He sleeps so great right now, I reaaaaaaaaaaally don't want to mess with it! But the paci needs to go soon!

@.twist.: It's literally a terrifying process. Her sleep was SO good (12 hours at night, one 3 hour nap). I was so nervous it would be shot to h*ll. The sleep seems ok, but please no thumb!!

Ugh. I'm following too. I am planning to wean him from his paci but am so scared for various reason, the thumb being one of them.

Since we're due for LO2 in May, we decided to start weaning LO1 off of the pacifier. She's almost 18 months and pretty addicted to her paci, but only gets it in the crib.

Well, we snipped the tip off the end a couple days ago and it hasn't been going terrible. A few whiny cries on and off for about an hour, but nothing too bad. She did miss her nap yesterday, but today she took one.

Well, I was so thrilled hoping it was working, but our sitter just texted me that she found her thumb! She has NEVER touched her thumb before (for sucking). I thought if you weaned this late it was unlikely they would go to the thumb because they technically don't need the sucking anymore. Am I crazy? Should I give the paci back? I would like to avoid the thumb sucking if possible.

Anyone have thoughts or experience with this?
