these are similar to a wubbanub, but you can attach them to different types of pacifiers. not sure if it'd be helpful

I just told my husband about this post and he said "two words: duct tape." Haha. He's kidding, obviously :-)
So we had the same problem for a while. Still do at 13 weeks to some extent but not nearly as bad as it was.
Originally we were using the Soothies but they are so smooth and popped out so easily. We started using the Dr. Browns pacifiers since they have more of a bulb and just seemed to stay in better. It took a day or two for him to get used to it vs the soothie but now he loves it.
Not sure if this is helpful since you said you've already tried tons of pacis. But thought it couldn't hurt to mention.

Good luck!

We used a beanbag type thing from the NICU to hold it in. Do you want one? I could mail it to you... not a great pic but you get the idea :)

The nurses in the nicu taught us a trick to work on strengthening their mouths to help them retain the paci when it's in. When it's in, you push the downward side of it a little so she has to suck to pull it up. Dunno If it helps with sleep but we did this a lot with E

@Mae: I saw those! The extra plastic near her mouth doesn't bug her? I was worried about that with them.

@T.H.O.U.: that's what I did with my first and would do now except she poops after every feeding so she always gets changed and woken up after nursing :/

I'm sorry :( my baby is/was sort of like this. Not as much for naps but I once she was "sttn" she would wake me up 6-10+ times/night to pop the paci in still. I don't have good advice, I just dealt with it. She started figuring out how to replace the paci at 5mo and at almost 7mo she can usually do it herself if she can find it before she gets too pissed off. But most nights I still have to help her 2-3 times. Also there is a brand called paci plushie that fits on any paci and that has helped somewhat bc my lo only likes avent. I can't start her with that bc she immediately pulls it out to play with it, but I put it next to her in the crib and usually she finds that one first before the other one when she wakes to replace her paci.

I'm going crazy with trying to figure out what to do with the pacifier. Baby Deer is 8 weeks old and can't keep her pacifier in her mouth well. She thrusts it out with her tongue or just loses a hold on it after a minute or two. We've tried different ones and she likes MAMs the best. I tried a wubbanub but she doesn't like the soothie pacifier on it. I tried making my own by attaching a beanie baby to her MAM but it didn't help. I think the problem is that she wants it to fall asleep, but then pops it out to sleep. The second it pops out she startles and wants it back in though. So naptime I end up going back in like 15 times. She'll sometimes fall asleep without it, but will wake after 40ish minutes screaming for it. My toddler is getting really upset that our playtime is constantly interrupted and I'm getting zero downtime in my day. I've tried seeing if she'd happily nap in the swing instead of taking a pacifier in her crib but she hated it.

My first wouldn't take a pacifier and I was so excited that it might work out this time around with my second, but it's becoming a nightmare. I want to throw it away but she's too young to CIO. Yet I can't spend 20 minutes rocking her to sleep with a toddler too (which she'll wakeup after 40 minutes anyway - and the pacifiers in play again).

Any advice? Anyone find a trick that worked? Did your baby finally just figure it out? Sorry my description is kind of a mess, SOOO sleep deprived.
