I introduced both at 6 weeks. HE took the bottle right away. He took the paci a few days later.....he loved the paci for a month, but then he rejected the paci about a month after that, and now he's mad at bottles (5 months).

She took the pacifer the first night we were in the hospital but only for about 5 minutes at a time. She took a bottle of pumped milk within days because my nipples were so bloody and beat to hell pumping was a nice break.

Tried to offer a pacifier on day 4. At 4 months old he still won't take one. He had a bottle during his first week and then none until 3 months.

My daughter got both in the nicu while she worked up the strength to breastfeed. Bottles we dropped at 6 days when breastfeeding was established. She never cared much for the pacifier.

We tried a pacified on day 3 but she wouldn't take it and still won't. We waited a couple weeks for the bottle though and she will take it but prefers to breast feed.

Paci at 2-3 weeks. She never really took to it. There were about 3 weeks when she would take it to go to sleep, but she acts like we're feeding her bark if we offer it now. Bottle at 3-4 weeks. We have zero problems with her taking the bottle, but we've only had success with the mOmma bottles.

He had a pacifier and a bottle when he was a couple days old because he was in the NICU and I wasn't there for every feeding after I was discharged. He always did fine with nursing and has never had any problems. I would have waited, but the circumstances didn't work out that way for us. I was very thankful we never had any nipple confusion from it.

Paci on day 2- she loved it until she found her thumb at 5 months, now she rarely bothers with it.

Bottle at 5 weeks- she never really loved the bottle, more just tolerates it

I waited until breastfeeding was solidly established. He was quick to catch on so it was about 2-3 weeks. The only reason we did it so early was because DH would take him so I could get some sleep but he'd always wake up wanting to comfort suck. Giving him the paci allowed me to sleep 3 hours!

He weaned himself off of it when he was 6 months.

He had his first bottle (of breastmilk) when he was 1 week old. He had a bad latch and chewed my nipples so badly that I couldn't feed him at all. We gave him a pacifier at 3 weeks, and at 5 weeks I could finally breastfeed again (after pumping and bottle feeding) and now at 7 weeks he has one bottle a day of breast milk. He has no nipple confusion and loves his pacifier, when he can figure out how to keep it in his mouth! :)

Also on day 3 for us...never had an issue with it affecting breastfeeding. If anything, it helped, because he loves to suck when he's not actually hungry.

6 weeks. I was super paranoid about nipple confusion and I think we waited too long to introduce it. She never really took the pacifier except for maybe 2 times. She gagged on it and spit it out, and looked at us like we were crazy the rest of the time. My mom kept trying to get her to take it after it was clear LO wasn't interested, so I finally hid them all away. Far far away. :)

I haven't given her a pacifier because she loves her hands. As far as a bottle, the hospital gave me a manual pump and some gerber storage bottle things with individual nipples. I collect the milk that leaks on the side she isn't nursing from (she only nurses one side per feed) and gave her that with a 'standard nipple' the other night because she was still hungry. I did it again last night. She seemed to do just fine both times, and hasn't had an issue with the breast as a result, either.

DD started using a pacifier at 2 1/2 weeks. She has a crazy strong suck reflex and was tongue tied along with me having overactive letdown. She wanted to suck all. the. time. but nursing caused terrible tummy aches so after she was done eating she got a binki.

She had her first bottle at 5 weeks. I didn't pump before that b/c I wanted to really establish my supply & fix some oversupply issues. Still when she does get a bottle we really watch HOW she's fed so she doesn't get lazy at the breast.

He had a pacifier the day we took him home from the hospital (for the car ride). First and only time he's taken it (been willing to take it, that is...he pretty much always spits it right out). He had his first bottle of pumped milk at 3 weeks old. His pediatrician told us we could offer it to him at 2 weeks (because he was gaining weight so well). DH gave one to him at 3 weeks because it was his (DH's) birthday. He usually gets one bottle of pumped milk a day...always from DH, because I don't want him to smell me while he's getting a bottle and get confused.
