It helped to soothe one while I worked with nursing the other. I didn't have any nipple confusion issues. Once they were good at latching and I had a good milk supply it was fine. They both gave them up around 3 months. My daughter doesn't really use one. He honestly won't take it if I'm within smelling distance though, lol, he'd rather have the boob. He has always been great at breastfeeding, even from day one. If DH took him so I could sleep, he just gave him his pinky to suck on and that satisfied him. We avoided the pacifier for the first few weeks until I was confident good breastfeeding was established.<br /> He's had the pacifier for a couple weeks now (he's 6 weeks old) and is doing great. It's a lifesaver honestly, I wouldn't survive a car ride without it. </p> <p>I am using the 100% rubber natur sutten and really like them. I've noticed that she sucks down the milk so fast during the day that she needs the pacifier to help with the suckling action. I've had no probelms so far.
