I introduced a pacifier at 1-week, and it didn't interfere w/breastfeeding. She's not a particularly big fan of it, though, and will usually spit it out after a couple minutes.

My twins got pacifiers in the hospital. It helped to soothe one while I worked with nursing the other. I didn't have any nipple confusion issues. Once they were good at latching and I had a good milk supply it was fine. They both gave them up around 3 months. My daughter doesn't really use one. She just uses me as a pacifier.

NavyBaby is 8 days old and nursing like a champ and we do give him a paci occasionally. He honestly won't take it if I'm within smelling distance though, lol, he'd rather have the boob. If I'm showering or napping he'll take it from DH and go to town until I'm available.

We introduced a pacifier the first week, and it didn't interfere with breastfeeding. We were already using bottles the first week as well.

We let LO use a pacifier only at night and he didn't have any problems with BFing. After a few months, we just stopped giving him the paci and he never complained or anything.

Baby Y got a paci around 5 weeks. He definitely had no nipple confusion. These days, I only give them to him for sleep, and he definitely doesn't need them to stay asleep.

LO is 5 weeks and we haven't introduced a pacifier and don't plan to. I'd rather not give him a crutch that we'd have to take away later. He tends to be hungry when he wants to suck, so I just feed him. I have given him my pinky finger to suck on a few times.

We are breastfeeding, started using a paci at 2-3 weeks (just during dinner or driving) and the only problem we have is that he spits them out immediately since he hates them.

With bottles (with slowest flow nipples) and paci's we have never had a problem with breastfeeding, he prefers boob over everything else.

We have been using the gumdrop brand Paci's. We have had no problems going back and forth.
We also have a couple mams she used during car rides.

We waited to give him a pacifier. He has always been great at breastfeeding, even from day one. If DH took him so I could sleep, he just gave him his pinky to suck on and that satisfied him. We avoided the pacifier for the first few weeks until I was confident good breastfeeding was established.
He's had the pacifier for a couple weeks now (he's 6 weeks old) and is doing great. It's a lifesaver honestly, I wouldn't survive a car ride without it.

I am using the 100% rubber natur sutten and really like them. The only downside is that he can't keep it in his mouth on his own.

My LO is 10 days old, and I do a combo of breastfeeding and pumped breastmilk in bottles during the day. I've noticed that she sucks down the milk so fast during the day that she needs the pacifier to help with the suckling action. I've had no probelms so far. Fingers crossed.
