I understand that firm is better as her crib does have a firm mattress, but the crib mattress has much more support than the pnp mattress that is extremely this. A baby who is used to a PnP mattress will be comfortable on it (mine is), but a baby used to a standard mattress may not be. I would try anything out at home first so you can see if your LO is comfortable.</p> <p>Eta: my guy sleeps on the one that comes standard, with a standard PnP sheet. It's pretty soft once you get it all together. We are renting a house, so we can't ask for a crib, and are thinking of bringing the pack n play. Any suggestions on mattresses? Do they have any that fold or are easier to transport? </p>
