I agree with shipping as much as possible ahead of time, or asking your family to get certain things on your list before your arrival. Flights went mostly smoothly for us and I think that is largely because I carried on as little as possible and only had one bag to check/wait for at the other end. I was usually traveling alone with LO.

I usually place an order for bulky things to be shipped to my destination, like diapers, body washes, lotion, etc. I also ship ahead toiletries for my husband and I where possible, like his shaving things. I also ship certain pouches, it makes the first few days more calm, if that makes sense. We can always run out if we need to, but I have found I am less stressed than if I make a list and have my mom pick up items.

We are flying for the first time with our boys next month to visit DH's family. They'll be 16 months old. MIL has graciously purchased car seats and pack n plays, so that's less we have to worry about bringing. I'm planning to buy travel booster seats to bring with us to feed them there, and I need to get a travel bag for our double stroller.

Any other big or small must-haves/must-brings for a trip that you've learned are essential? The flight will be a little less than 3 hours and we're staying for 9 days.

TIA!
