I do what @Mrs. Lion: suggested! Then they just cut off the brown end and the peel keeps it fresh

The only problem with the frozen bananas is that it gets super watery, so the texture/consistency won't be the same. When LO is going through a banana phase, i usually send half a banana, and it works out great.

I have been thinking about doing frozen banana slices too. I was going to pre-load the mesh feeder with frozen slices since her lunch goes in an insulated lunch bag with an ice pack, and is not kept refrigerated, they would thaw slightly by lunch time.

I do what @Mrs. Lion: says kind of. I send a whole banana one day, and then cut through the skin a piece the size that's needed. Then they just keep it until it's one, and do the same each day. Cut through the skin, trim the brown part, feed the good part, and throw a baggie over the exposed end that goes back in the fridge.

What about buying those little tiny bananas and sending half of one of those?

You could cut the whole banana in half and send that. Only the part exposed to air will brown and you can easily trim that part off. I would just put it in a snack zip lock bag :)

T has started having some banana in one of those little mesh baby feeders with his oatmeal every morning. He can use it himself and loves it! We've been home with him the past week for vacation so we just started it. I'm going to take the mesh feeder to his babysitters and let her keep it (we'll probably buy a second for our use) so he can have banana everyday. He only eats about 2-3 slices of banana before he's full and content.

I can put a banana in his little lunch bag with bottles and food no problem. I just don't want to waste a whole banana everyday. At home, DH and I (and the dog) share the unused banana. Maybe she could give the rest to the other babies but it would be good if I could just send a half a banana everyday or something. But they brown and oxidize so quick. Any ideas?
