@jaguar: I mean, the uterus is the strongest muscle in the body - when it contracts you've gotta figure sometimes that will hurt!!

@ladyfingers: Yah, I think whoever said that was probably male. Like most OB's. ;) Doc wasn't too concerned, mostly since it was a one-off, but I'm just going to watch it. If today's ultrasound is anything to go by, baby girl is wedged in SO tight in my back, it doesn't surprise me why I'm getting pain there!

I always heard bh don't hurt either - well mine totally do! So it doesn't necessarily rule them out. I also had a lot of joint issues I needed to see a chiro for, and when I would have DH rub my lower back, I would scream out in pain. It never made me contract, but a dr should be able to shed some light!

I'm sorry the pain got so bad my dear. Good to know it's most likely a bad case of BH. Feel better!

That sounds like my BH. Sometimes they hurt and sometimes they are just tightening. Sometimes they start in my back and sometimes they are just in my abdomen. Oddly, sometimes they'll only hurt in one part of my abdomen, too. I'm glad you haven't had anymore. Make sure you drink lots of water to keep from getting dehydration contractions!

Yick! I'm hoping that's all it was - all fine today and no worrying. :) Hopefully they stick to just tightening from now on, rather than the PAIN that last night's one brought. :)

I have never had anything like that, but I would say if it happens again to call your Dr, just to be on the safe side. Yay for 26 weeks! :)

So last night I went to bed with a really aching back (on the right side) & asked hubby to massage it. He agreed, so I rolled over onto my left side - facing away from him - and he started to rub it for me.

After less than a minute, I had to make him stop. I was in agony! The back pain went all the way around my side and my belly & just froze. My uterus/stomach went rock hard too. I had to get up and walk around, and the pain actually brought tears to my eyes! It lasted about three minutes before it released & I didn't have any other tightening or painful moments after that.

Has anyone had this before or knows what it could be? I thought braxton hicks contractions weren't supposed to hurt? I'm wondering if the back spasm/cramp just triggered something, but it was mighty unpleasant!

(P.S.) I'm totally fine now. No back pain, baby moving gently this morning, good heartbeat. Oh, and I'm 26 weeks tomorrow. :)
