Oh. Sorry. I missed the 800mg part. My Dr told me to take 600mg so I guess that's why it was every 6 hours. Hope the pain is more manageable now.

@msmug: What was the mg of your ibuprofen? I know I can take normal 400mg ever 6 hours. OP said hers were 800mg? That could make a difference in timing.

My Dr had told me to take ibuprofen every 6 hours. So that may be why you're in pain?

Just make sure you save that percocet prescription! I was fine and not taking anything after the first few days, but then my husband went back to work and I definitely needed the stronger medication for the first few days home alone with a newborn and toddler!

Glad you're feeling good!! I quit my Percocet early and alternated Tylenol and Motrin like others said. I'm sure you know this but don't stop taking the Motrin. It helps with the inflammation I think? I forgot the specifics because I was 1 week PP and just trying to survive haha. But I told my doc at my 1 week post partum appt that I didn't need anymore meds but they reminded me to keep taking it until I ran out for whatever important reason that I now can't remember.

You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin. I would take regular Motrin or Advil every 6 hours and see how you do. You could also cut the Percocet in half and see if that works better for you.

I think I alternated extra strength tylenol with the ibuprifin. Since they are different meds it's ok. That was what my ob recommended.

I am 6 days post-csection and feeling pretty great. I was sent home with a 10 day supply of Percocet and a bigger supply of 800mg of Ibuprofin.

I don't have Percocet level pain, but can only take ibuprofin every 8 hours. I feel icky after about 5-6 hours.

Is there something else I can take? Would I be better off taking OTC Motrin every 6 hours?
