@IRunForFun: But they are gaining weight and getting big, so that can still explain pressure!!

@snowjewelz: I was really hoping the midwife would tell me that I was feeling pressure because baby flipped head down, but nope, definitely still breech. Bummer.

I felt a lot more pressure once DD2 was head down (I didn't know, but when the tech told me at the US I connected). A lot of times now I feel like my vagina is gonna open up lol. I'll bring this up to OB tomorrow but so far I believe it's all normal. I'm 30 weeks.

I'm glad it turned out OK. I had such terrible pelvic pain and pressure during the last half of my second pregnancy. There were some days that I cried at the thought of having to get up and walk. It really sounds like you might have overdone it a bit in addition to baby's weird positioning.

Just updating - they are sending out a swab and a urine sample to check for infection but didn't see signs of any, and cervix was all closed up. The midwife said the discomfort is due to the baby's breech presentation. It's tightly wedged in on my right side with the butt and spine up against my hip and feet against my rectum. Joy. I'm going to make an appointment with the chiropractor and make a bigger attempt to get baby to turn. I know there's time but for comfort purposes it needs to happen soon!

I am glad I got checked though, for peace of mind!!

@catlady: Thanks! Yeah, I spoke to the nurse this morning and she asked the same questions about bleeding and leaking etc and said it's most likely normal discomfort, possibly made worse by over exertion or dehydration, but to come get checked to be safe.

@IRunForFun: Hope you are doing better this morning. I didn't see this yesterday but I've been getting this on and off for awhile now (I'm 34 weeks though). I've asked my OB about it a couple times and she said it was normal and nothing to worry about as long as there was no blood, no water breaking or leaking, and no regular and painful contractions. I know it's really disconcerting though. In my case, she said it was probably happening more since it's my second baby (also my baby is head down and apparently already quite low). So since that's not quite the case for you I'd definitely still call if you haven't already. Good luck!

@IRunForFun: Thank you. My son is about 6 months old now and is ok, but he was born at 25+4. I had the weird butt pressure at 24+6. But dont worry your situation is very different from mine, i was so high risk by that point. I hope you feel better soon!

@knittylady: I think in hindsight I should have called. I thought maybe I just had to take a big poop or something. Pregnancy has so many aches and pains, but thinking back the butt pressure wasn't normal for me.

@IRunForFun: I had ongoing bleeding so I was at risk for preterm labor. But that day I didn't have more bleeding than usual only weird pain/pressure in my butt. I brushed it off and didn't call but coincidentally had a Dr appt the next day where she checked my dilation (because of the bleeding) and was a bit alarmed after I told her about the butt pressure. I got sent straight to L&D where they found me contracting and dilating. My son was also breech.
That being said though, pelvic pressure and stuff is quite common at this point in pregnancy. Does it get better after you drink water?

I hate calling the doctor after hours too but I think I'd call to ask about the butt pressure. Honestly it's probably nothing, especially since you're not having weird discharge or other symptoms. However (and not to scare you) I had weird butt pressure and ended up being in preterm labor.

Pubis symphysis dysfunction or pelvic congestion syndrome maybe? Doesn't sound overly concerning, but your doc will probably send you to L&D if you call. I'd probably wait until morning and get an office visit. If there's no contractions and/or bleeding or funky discharge I'd wait it out.

@threeplusme: Thanks. I don't think it warrants a trip to the ER. I've had BHs since 16 weeks and I know what those feel like and when they're happening, and they aren't connected to the pain/pressure at the moment. And they aren't painful. No bleeding or discharge. I can always call the midwife on call and go to L&D rather than the ER.

Better safe than sorry, I'd call the doc and probably head to er just to be checked and monitored for contractions. It's probably just some Braxton hicks after such an active few days plus maybe the baby has turned but I'd drive myself crazy worrying if I didn't get checked.

I always err on the side of when in doubt call the doc, but this pregnancy and the last I've experienced this sensation pretty strongly from about 24/5 weeks on (and it got more intense as time passed). From what my doctor says, it's pretty normal, but it never hurts to check in!
