I love love love Benjamin Moore Wickham Gray. It's a beautiful soft gray-blue. I've painted it in my last two houses - first in our gender neutral nursery (I wanted to avoid "baby blue" at all costs) and then in our family room. It worked equally well in both rooms, and I think it would look lovely in a dining room too.

ETA: It's more blue IRL than it's appearing on my computer monitor, so if you look at the BM color swatch and think it looks simply light gray, think again! It's a soft, kind of warm bluish gray.

Here's some blue-grays in chic nursery. Maybe these colors will work for both of your spaces.

@serenity207: Oh man, picking the right gray is SO hard, it really depends on the lighting in your specific room. Is it possible to get a bunch of swatches or even samples tonight and hang them up on the walls to decide before tomorrow morning?

Thanks ladies!! Ahh, @blackbird, now I'm dying to know!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime - I'm on my phone and haven't figured out how to post pics but will try tonight when I'm on my laptop! Our walls on the rest of the first floor are going to be in BM Linen White with Dove White trim so as long as it goes with that we should be good.

@purplepumps - we have to have the paint to the painters tomorrow so I don't know if we'll have time to do large swatches. I hope we do!

Two colors I found and am considering are BM pebble beach (too gray/dark?) or BM horizon (too light/blue)? Thoughts?

Thanks again!!

Ah, the elusive perfect shade of grey blue. I'm pretty sure it doesnt exist. lol.
Have you looked at Ben Moore November Skies, I remember liking that a lot on the swatch.
I would highly recommend paint samples and painting a *very* large patch. What I thought was the perfect grey blue turned out to be quite a baby blue even with test patches this size. If there is a subtle hint of color, it will be multiplied a lot once the room is filled. You can also ask them for the color mixture so you can see how much green/blue/whatever color tint is used to mix it.

[attach=2644/14/neiosn.600x450.paint2.jpg]

In the end, I scraped the blue/grey quest... I hope you find your perfect color!

We just closed on a house and want to repaint the walls. We have most of our paints picked out but are stuck on the dining room paint color as well as our son's room paint color. Since we want a blueish color for both rooms, it would be ideal if we could find a color that we could use in both rooms, since we are using other colors throughout the house and don't want it to end up looking like a rainbow in there. :) We'd ideally like a blueish color that is airy and reflects light (nothing too dark). I like a grayish blue too but would like to stay away from any blues that have a green tinge to it or that look too "baby blueish". I was looking at BM Moonshine, but it look like that may have a little green in it...please help save my sanity. Do you have any favorite blues for a dining room? BM Horizon looks nice too but I'm concerned it'll be too washed out and pale. Examples of other colors we're using in the house are Owl Gray, Bunny Gray, Bride to Be, and Dove White for trim.
