Ummm get it! I have a Jenny crib and adore it. But it's red and I think I'm going to paint it yellow or mint. Let's have matching everything lol.

DH is planning on building our crib and we will be painting it when it's done. I just found this paint that I'm thinking about trying out. You can order samples too: http://www.quiethomepaints.com/pages/organic

Also, if you don't like the plastic rail guards, they have these cute cloth ones all over etsy: http://www.etsy.com/listing/78617078/padded-cloth-crib-rail-protector-cover?ref=sr_gallery_7&ga_search_query=Cloth+crib+teething+guard&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all&ga_facet=Cloth+crib+teething+guard

I have seen online that people have done it, but it isn't a risk I would personally take. I would certainly research which paint would be the safest to use if you choose to do so.

ETA: I'm not a fan of modifying any baby gear - they have such strict guidelines as it is for a very good reason.

There is no way I would do this but I guess maybe if you got organic/non toxic paint. I would guess that would be expensive though. Maybe paint plus a non-toxic sealer on it?

I'd say yes! There are so many painted cribs online. I'm not sure what kind of paint would be best to use though. I googled and found a website with organic/non-toxic paint. You definitely have options. If you do paint your crib, I'd get some rail guards for when LO gets older and wants to chew on the crib.

Would/could you paint a crib?

I really like the style of the Jenny Lind cribs, and there is a white one for sale on my CL, with what looks like teeth marks on it, DH is very handy, so he could fill that..buuut could I paint it? Say, red. The whole thing?

My concern is when the baby starts teething if they bite it?
