@ladybee: yup the inside walls. I'm impatient too! Not sure if we will have enough left over. It may work.

@Danizaur: is it the inside of the closet? Will it have doors? I'd probably just use the trim paint honestly but I'm impatient.

@ladybee: Probably. That's the only walls we will be painting white. We have a whole gallon of white that's made just for the trim and doors.

Looks like I will just have to talk DH into making another trip to Lowes. I know he will be thrilled. But I think you all are right! White it is!

@Mae: Thanks! I'll see what DH wants to do (he's a "lets just do it and be done" kind of person) and Ill let you know!

@Cole: That's what I thought. White would be more convenient in the long run. I'll definitely post pictures when it's done! I've got major plans in store. Decorating and planning is kind of my thing. It'll probably be a couple of months...money is tight so we have to buy things for the nursery one at a time. Furniture is next! Wee!

I'm in the camp that closets should always be white--that way the clothes don't get thrown off by any wall colors! ;)

This really might not work but could you mix some of your white in with the navy to lighten it up? I would think a navy closet might make it harder to see things especially for early mornings.

Another thought that might make it worth doing the white or another light color is I would imagine you will want to paint the room at some point and the closet might not need a new coat.

I would love to see pictures of the room when you are done! I love navy rooms, our room is navy and it makes me so happy!

@Danizaur: I did a cool stencil in my loft just by cutting a circle out of cardboard and tracing it on the wall. Took kind of a while but it looks amazing! PM me if you want the link to my blog (I don't know that I am allowed to post the link here or if thats self promotion or whatever)

I guess red isn't really any lighter than navy and that might be a little scary in a closet haha. I'd just go with white then! If you want to get fancy with it, maybe a navy stencil over the white?

We are finally about to start on T's nursery! Bought our paint yesterday and we are going to paint on Sunday. We are painting his walls navy and the trim white. We had already decided we were going to paint the closet navy as well...but now that I think about it, it might not look that great. It's a tiny closet.

I thought about painting it white but that means we would need to get more paint, because the white we have is specifically designed for trim and such, not walls, and I'm ready to be in and out on painting in one day. We don't have a spare second this weekend except for Sunday to paint and it will likely take all day since we are painting the trim and doors too.

We aren't planning on selling anytime soon, so I'm not concerned about market value. Just whether or not I would regret painting a small closet navy! This seems like a silly question, i know, but where else do I turn to but my fellow bees for advice? WWYD?
