@Thehistoryofus: I think coconut flakes are ok for toddlers to eat. I get the dried unsweetened coconut.

@Sammyfab: Thanks I will try those!

Is coconut flakes ok to feed them? I think my DD would like that because its sweet. Do you eat the dry or wet coconut?

The toddler at my gym eats a lot of greek yogurt (which i know isn't paleo, but more primal) and almonds. Also beef jerky type sticks (the grass fed, organic salt) and lots of fruit. He also got strips of eggs to snack on.

You can make fudge babies! They are just dates, any nut/seed and cocoa powder (you can omit this) blended together and rolled into balls. I've also made what my friend calls crack balls with apricots, dates, almond butter and shredded coconut.

I also found this recipe today: http://weelicious.com/2012/08/22/cocodate-cookies/

@Thehistoryofus: 14 months old I think for the sunflower seeds we were at a friends house and that was the snack. He could probably do almond slivers now at 18 months old.

@brownie: Thanks.

I agree, we still love applesauce and other puree packages!

I love frozen fruits and smoothies at home but thats hard to transport.

How old was your LO when you started sunflower seeds?

Fruit and almond/sunflower seed butter. Smoothies. We get both freeze dried fruit and things like craisons but we are very careful there is no sugar added (most have added sugar if you buy them from the store). My son loves onions so we will give him those to munch on. He has sunflower seeds I haven't been brave enough to try any nuts yet. We do frozen fruits like blueberries straight from the freezer.

We aren't so paleo when we go out. I have found some nice treats from happy times that are fruit and veggie with no added sugar so I buy those. We also do the Justin's nut butters in the 1 oz packets. Just tear the corner and munch but they do have some sugar in them. We do baby food or applesauce pouches.

What type of snacks do you feed your toddler that are healthy?

- Raisins/Craisins
- Dehydrated fruits (expensive though)
- Yogurt melts (although I guess these are considered processed)
- Cheese sticks

Any other suggestions? I still haven't tried the sea weed chips because I can't find them in stores.
