I don't keep track either...but I don't do everything every month, it's more like pedicures twice a month 3 months out of the year, a facial twice a year, haircuts are every 8 weeks.

I don't keep track but I imagine it's several hundred per month. When I get a massage or facial it's like $150 and I get a couple a year. Plus I count things like a fancy coffee out, a new book or a bottle of nail polish as "pampering" because it goes to my mental/physical well being. Hair cut is just over $100 with tip, and I buy new or used clothes pretty regularly. Not a ton, but it adds up. I also spend a small fortune on skin care items!

Thanks for all the replies! Sounds like a lot of us could use some more pampering, if only time and budget allowed! It's tight for us too, but I'm planning to try to prioritize it more...at least something small each month!

Not much- maybe like $15/ month if you count my nice toiletries and hair care stuff that I don't share with DH/ DD. I usually cut my own hair and do DIY mani-pedis with my daughter as girl bonding time. I have bought a lot of clothes this year, but I needed maternity/ nursing stuff so I'm counting that in the baby budget.

I never get my hair cut and I don't like the usual sort of pampering, but DH and I each have $15 spending money each month that we can use however we want. It isn't much but it's for those times I need to get the kids out of the house and get coffee or something.

I don't really keep track. I hate getting my hair cut, loathe clothes shopping unless I am in the right mood, and think manicures and pedicures are a waste of time for me. However I love buying nice tea, I regularly buy used books from Amazon, go to bakeries and get a treat every once in awhile, go out for dinner or to a nice deli quite a bit, and buy high quality shoes and nice jewelry (natural stones, like turquoise) on the odd occasion. So it evens out, I don't do spa type pampering but I do buy things I really like.

Well right now I need new clothes. Like if the whether gets any colder I have to wear the same thing every day need new clothes, so It'll be a good chunk this and next month but usually maybe $10 on drugstore sheet masks or something haha. I intend on getting my eyebrows done more frequently but part of the reason I don't is because I'm too forgetful

Typically I don't spend anything monthly. I probably get a haircut once a year and do my eyebrows twice a year. This pregnancy, however, I've been getting weekly massages but I wouldn't really say that's pampering because it hurts like hell. I'm due next week and am planning on getting my nails, hair and eyebrows done in the next few days.

Almost nothing, it seems. I just don't feel we have any extra money for any pampering, so I count coffee & flavored creamers as my splurges at this point, so it's pretty low. I'm way overdue for a haircut & would love to get regular massage & pedicures, but just don't find the funds like when I was also working. If I happen on a really great deal at the consignment store for some clothing or shoes I sometimes splurge, but generally I only shop for LO or DH if he needs something.

@IRunForFun: Same here!

I might spring for a few mani/pedi's over a year depending on the occasion... And I probably cut my hair once or twice a year and I will count that towards pampering even though it's kind of a necessity..

I spend $60/month on spray tans (I'm soooo pale) and then $130 haircut/colors every 2-3 months. I rarely get my nails done or wax my eyebrows.

I try to make sure I get my hair cut once every 8 weeks even though it's long. I'm way overdue for this, but usually make my next appointment religiously, and stick to it. Other than that, I will buy myself some clothes here or there and get a massage maybe once every 6 months. I also have a monthly therapy appointment with a copay. I'd say maybe $100-$150/month with absolutely zero guilt. It's why we work so hard.

In the summer I tend to do something once a month when it's easier for me to get together with friends who have kids for pedicures.

Winter, not so much. I only get my hair cut every 6 months or so, so maybe one shampoo/cut will fall during winter. And I might get one or two pedicures.

This pregnancy I've made a concerted effort to get monthly prenatal massages (at least during the last 6 months or so) = $90/month. I got one pedicure with a friend the other day and will probably go for at least one more before baby is due, but they are not something I regularly do. Also not big into getting my hair done, but will go once or twice a year for a nice cut and blow dry. I don't really enjoy shopping for clothes for myself so that's only a couple of times a year expense. I do enjoy getting craft coffee and baking, so I spend money on those items which I'd consider my pampering/hobbies/sanity.

I'd definitely set aside some money in your budget and time in your schedule for self-care! So important! I just have a hard time taking my own advice :silly:

Brow wax at a spa where I can sit in the steam room-$25
Monthly pedi $30 sometimes a mani
Haircut every 3 months
My co pay for a monthly massage and adjustment
I spend a fair amount of clothes a month for myself
Co pay for my monthly therapy appt

I'd say $300 a month on average. I solo parent a lot I feel 0% guilty about it. I also rarely feel like I come last.

Having a line item in your budget sounds like a great idea.

About how much a month would you say you spend on pampering yourself? Define it however you wish - nice haircut, stitch fix purchase, massage, bath product, etc - anything purely for your enjoyment and not a necessity or for the kids/family.

For me, I'd say most months $0. However, I'm thinking about deliberately setting aside something in the budget each month for this. I think it would help my mental health and stave off the feeling that my own needs matter least.
