You can/should take whatever they have in the bassinet, since they will throw it out after you left for hygiene reasons. I have a bias against Pampers because of the recall on the dry max diapers 2ish years ago when babies were getting 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burns. We used what they had in the hospital, then used BRU brand, Luvs or Huggies. I really liked Huggies Little movers from ages 6 months on, since they have extra stretchy legs/back and contain leaks better.</p> <p>DS never fit into newborns diapers though; he was 10lbs 9oz at birth. We went straight into size 1 (for the first 4-5 weeks). We cloth diaper, but use disposables now and then and DS was in size 2 for about another 5 weeks then hit size 3 by 3 months. We used them until we ran out, about 4 weeks. LO was 8.07# at birth and her umbilical stump fell off at exactly 2-weeks. You have to run out to the store anyway for random stuff so picking up diapers isn't a big deal.
