They missed my cervix and it was just jammed into some tissue in my body. When I am on my computer I'll add a link to some of the other threads that have been written on this.</p> <p>Again, not trying to discourage-just sharing both sides. I've heard it can make your period heavier and cramps worse, but I was willing to chance that rather than chance hormonal side effects from mirena. I haven't had a period yet since LO was born so I can't comment on the effects personally. Insertion wasn't too bad for me. I had planned on getting paraguard as I'm not too fond of hormones but my ob suggested mirena as you bleed less and have less cramping which is good for me as I am anaemic.
