We try to make it easy for LO to settle into her own routine. For us, that means always feeding on demand, and being a little more scheduled with naps. We do wait for sleepy cues, but sometimes she's so distracted that there are none. So we also watch the clock and try to calm things down a bit at times where she would normally nap. We try really hard to stick to her natural bedtime, especially during the week, because she wakes up at 7 no matter what time she goes to bed the night before.

I was looking at some sample baby schedules on BabyCenter and was curious how many of you practice parent-led versus baby-led schedules (see http://www.babycenter.com/0_sample-baby-sleep-feeding-and-play-schedules-for-your-childs_3657536.bc).

Before I had my LO, I totally thought I would be super strict about her schedule & routine since I'm really OCD & all about organization & consistency. However, I've turned out to be the complete opposite. I breast-feed on demand and put her down for naps whenever I see sleepy signals. Our days are pretty fluid, with no set times for eating/sleeping/playing (I just go with whatever she wants), but even without worrying about sticking to a schedule, I notice that she tends to go to bed/wake up around the same general time.

What about you?
