I can’t seem to get us into the habit of brushing teeth in the morning. Ugh. Drives me crazy. Also my 2 year only eats veggies in pouch form b cause he will NOT let them touch his lips.

Love this thread!

We don't do family dinners. Like ever. My husband likes super heavy, calorie dense, super spicy food, I try to eat healthy and don't love a lot of heat, and LO is exhausted from her day and needs to eat the second she walks through the front door from daycare. We end up making 3 different meals each night and taking turns eating. For now, it works for us, and LO gets plenty of healthy fresh food, just mostly at breakfast and lunch!

I love threads like this one.

I don't know when the last time my 2.5 yo had a vegetable and I make him his own dinner every night (something I swore I would never do) because it's easier to give him chicken nuggets, mac n cheese or meatballs than it is to battle with him to eat whatever we are eating. And he has a PB&J every single day for lunch.

@desertdreams I am worried I may end up tandem nursing too, although I didn't really want to! My son is 2.5 and baby 2 is due in May. I actually weaned him in November when I was about 11 weeks pregnant. He was NOT HAPPY (not his decision, he would still be nursing if up to him), but since then he's okay. BUT he still sometimes asks to nurse, and if he sees my boobs at all he's like "I want to nurse! Boobies! Drink!" And I just KNOW that once baby #2 is here and boobs around and baby brother gets to nurse, he's going to flip out wanting to nurse, too. Uggghhh.

I'm probably going to end up tandem nursing my 2yr old when LO2 comes in 6 weeks and I'm half hearted about it / don't really want to but LO1 wants the boob so bad and I don't have the strength / energy to say no. He was weaned 15-22 months but never ever forgot and not that I've got big pregnant boobs and was home with him 24/7 over break.... so he got back into it.

He watches about an hour of TV a day here and there and can work the YouTube app on his own. Due to ads and such I need to uninstall it and force him to use netflix, just haven't gotten to it yet.

@SweetiePie @youboots yassss I’ve found my people! Give me errands, classes, outdoor play, and tasks and I’m gold! Repetitive play and imagination make me go insane, which is terrible. Thankfully DW can play for literal HOURS so I don’t feel that bad.

For example, DS and I went to gymnastics and groceries this weekend and were out of the house for 2.5 hrs. It was awesome! We had a great time. Home for 2.5 hrs would not be.

@SweetiePie: same on hand washing after peeing at home. Like basically I never make her wash them then unlesss she asks. Also super pregnant and it’s just too much right now.
@Anagram: I’m definitely more hands off than my DH (and consequently my LO is better at playing independently when he’s not home) and I don’t love playing with her like @youboots: , I have a very short attention span and am always thinking about something productive I could be doing (or just wanting to space out on my phone).

We introduced DS to Cars this last week. I think we've watched it 10+ times in the last week. We've also watched all three seasons of Masha and the Bear on Netflix (terrible Russian slapstick) a couple times this month. My kid binge watches more than I do!

Baby girl puts plenty of things in her mouth she probably shouldn't.

No one is good at brushing their teeth and we bath about once a week in the winter (we bathe when necessary for cleanliness or distraction haha) and my son hates PJs, so he wears the next day's outfit to bed.

I find playing with my almost 3 year old DD very boring, including reading to her. I enjoy spending time with her much more when we are out of the house- walking, grocery shopping, dance class, play dates etc. Or cuffing and watching movies.

Work is going to be a dumpster fire for the next month (and has been for a week already) so I've accepted my children are eating processed food, fast food, candy, and whatever the next few weeks. I supermarket swept the Walmart for off-brand Lunchables this weekend and bought my first case of Capri Sun (granted the reduced sugar ones, but whatever). We also ate at Sizzler twice this weekend because they could eat spaghetti and fro yo to their hearts content. Or tacos. Or whatever they want.

I don’t make my 3yo wash his hands every time he pees. Public restrooms, always. But at home...I’m 31.5 weeks pregnant and my back is killing me and I’m tired and he won’t do it willingly. So I’m just not going to wrangle him and fight. I use wipes and sanitizer on his hands when I think of it. Come to think of it, I should just keep some above the toilet so it’s easy and becomes routine.

@Anagram: Oooo giving me ideas for the coffee help when DD is older.

I let my 1-year-old get into stuff she technically shouldn't if it keeps her happy and playing independently...pulling all the ziploc baggies out of the drawer and then out of the box...emptying tissue boxes and ripping up all the tissues...pulling all her clothes out of her drawers or her diapers off the shelf...Meh. She'll do any of these things for a while and be perfectly content and it only takes me a minute or two to clean up later so, whatever. DH thinks I'm teaching her bad habits but he's not the one home with her all day!
