Maybe once or twice a month and only for a couple hours so either dinner or a movie, not both. We try to give each other alone time too so that might be once a week. Sometimes this consists of dinner with friends, or a trip to target. We don't live near family, so when we go out and have to pay for a babysitter, it's usually for a special occasion. When we do visit family or family visits us, we usually get a night or two out. Not including work/school and commute.</p> <p>Dh &amp; I have only been away from the kids once for a family thing and once for breakfast when running an errand in the past four months since having our second. I know we need more us time but cold/flu season and having two (so not wanting to let MIL watch both at the same time) are preventing us from getting out. Wondering what a realistic goal might look like. With one we got out almost every month. </p>
