I think you should be fine. I was able to maintain 2-3 sessions when I stopped pumping at a year. I kept it up for six months.

I don't have an answer but my LC told me that after 8 weeks I could try BFing some feedings, bottle feeding others, and that my milk would adjust accordingly, meaning I'd have more at those fewer feedings. That contradicts some of what I've heard though so I understand your apprehension! Could you pump occasionally to measure your output so you can catch it if there's a decrease?

I had problems with supply from about 3 months on (when I went back to work). I was able to eek out enough milk to avoid supplementing until LO was 6 mo old, but I was pumping at every opportunity to try to get enough milk for her at daycare. At 6 mo, I started supplementing with formula during the day while still pumping at work. My supply definitely went down without all the heroic measures I had been taking, but I was able to have enough milk for 3-4 feedings a day until about 10 months. At that point my LO was not very interested in nursing and my supply went down further. At 11 months I quit pumping at work and tried just to nurse morning and night with no pumping... that really only lasted 2 weeks before I think my milk just about dried up... LO was not interested at all in nursing anymore and I'm sure that was in part due to supply (she was also pretty distracted though and not very happy to sit still and feed, even with a bottle). I ended up not quite making it to my goal of 1 year, but we got pretty close. I didn't want to make myself crazy trying to get my supply back up, nor did I want to force her to nurse, just to meet my goal.

I used domperidome and fenugreek starting at about 7 or 8 months and that definitely helped.

I've had supply issues from Day 1 and have had to supplement. For several months I was BFing, then giving formula, then pumping. It was exhausting and I just couldn't keep up. I hate pumping, so I have dropped that pretty much altogether.

Now I am at the point where I BF LO 3-5 times a day and supplement for all other feedings. Will I be able to keep my supply? I don't need to make more than what is needed for the 3-5 feedings but I'm nervous I will dry up.

Did anyone else BF part time without pumping? LO is 5 months and I'd really like to make it to at least year.
