@Meltini: I am unemployed and we decided to keep LO in daycare two days a week to keep in routine. And I'd always plan on going back to work so we need to keep her spot. We did not find it hard at all, in any way. We did Tuesday and Thursdays. I go back to work Wednesday and she will now be going Tuesday - Friday.

@Silva: I was wondering about that too. I've heard the same about 3 days being easier but I wondered if it was true.

We are doing part time starting in august- 7.5 hour days M/T/W - when we were looking we found that it needed to be a set schedule, or you had to pay for a full time slot. We are doing in home, and preferred it to the centers we visited. For what it's worth, I had several people tell me that in their experience 3 day weeks were easier for kids than 2.

My daycare allows part time but it needs to be set. I think it will be too hard for any daycare to allot enough teachers in a room to allow you a different schedule every week. Possibility an in home might be more accommodating?

When we start in August, we will have part-time daycare. She will be at an in-home day care Tues/Wed/Thurs, with my mom watching her on Mondays and DH watching her on Fridays. I definitely haven't come across any places that would do a rotating schedule - but an in-home place might be a better bet for that kind of flexibility.

I recently accepted a new position at work (yay) which means I can no longer work from home every day (boo) so I'm looking into daycare for LO. He's currently 8 months old. We are lucky in that we won't need daycare 5 days a week. My husband works every 3rd day, my MIL doesn't work and wants to watch D, and my mom usually has Wednesdays off and wants to watch D when DHs work shift falls on Wednesday (every 3rd week). So, I'm trying to decide if I should do a fixed schedule every week with my mom and MIL each helping out as needed or if I should try to follow my husbands work schedule and then let him coordinate with the grandmas when he wants time to get other things done.

So my questions are, if you do part time daycare, what is your schedule? Do you do a center or in-home? Does anyone have rotating schedule for daycare or is it better to do a fixed schedule?
