Actually I've found that a lot of the nannies on care are looking for part time off hours gigs!

I think Care.com is great - I personally will work through it & wouldn't through Craigslist. There is a ton of part-time work and people looking for part-time work! Especially if you're open to moms who have their own kids nannying.

My only thing I'll add is that I'd definitely make sure to request access to their background check and ask for references. Care.com implies that they check both on all nannies -but they don't guarantee it (they've never called my reference).

I would also suggest a young person if you're open to it! Do you have any younger cousins, nieces etc that you could call? One way that I found babysitting/nannying jobs in high school and college was my church. Some parents would call my youth pastor and ask for recommendations of mature, responsible youth students. Maybe call a church youth pastor in your area?

Also, do you have friends with kids? Ask for their babysitters numbers..

I have used craigslist, care.com and nannies4hire, oh and sittercity.com :)

You can also call local colleges & post something for early childhood or nursing students, a lot of them would love a part time thing

My LO is 3 months old and I am looking for someone to watch him one full day a week, and then occasional weekend evenings so we can start going out again! Does anyone have any advice on how to find someone? Craigslist? Care.com? I know most nannies are looking for full time work, but I really just want someone one day so I can go grocery shopping, or go to dr appts or even get my hair cut, and get some stuff done around the house. Thanks!!
