3 days at home, that is awesome! I'm going to ask for 50% cut in hours and to just get paid hourly, no benefits. Sucks, but then I don't think I'll feel guilty taking off whenever I need to for LO and not worrying about "making" a certain number of hours. (At my company to get benefits you have to work 24 hours a week)

Wouldn't that mean you are no longer FT then? Do you still qualify for benefits? At mine I know someone who is only PT and she does not get benefits.

I'm dropping to 80% and taking Fridays totally off. My benefits get reduced accordingly, but to me it's worth it.

wow that worked out great for you!!!

I talked with my husband and he thinks it's a better idea for me to approach it after I return from maternity leave.
I'm hoping to switch to four 9 hour days and one 4 hour day from home. I don't want to go PT bc then I'll lose my benefits.

I had a meeting with my boss yesterday and discussed going part time and working more from home. Ideally, I would work Monday & Tuesday at the office, Thursday from home and Wed/Fri off. He told me he prefers I stay FT and work 2 days from the office and 3 from home but he will think about PT and get back to me. Yay!

Do you work part time? Do you get an adjusted lower salary or get paid hourly now?
