I usually make wonton tacos, they are great for toddlers and up. For younger guests, maybe some meatballs?

@LittleGBee: omg that's adorable!!! I love it!!

May I have your quinoa salad recipe? Sounds delish!
Also your sugar-free smash cake - do you have a picture? Sounds amazing!

Oooh... good point about the skewers haha! I was planning on using some for kebobs - I don't think there will be too many little children though..

We did a totally GF (and mostly paleo) spread for our daughter's first birthday. No one really even noticed the lack of gluten and there were no left-overs to prove it.
Here's our menu:
- bacon wrapped dates
-chicken satay skewers
- moroccan meatballs
- fruit skewers
- quinoa salad with spinach and avocado
- caprese skewers
- veggie platter
- chocolate dipped marshmallows
- GF, sugar free smash cake and cupcakes (used Cup4Cup from William and Sonoma)

One thing I will say is that I didn't exactly think through the skewers and the littles. Parents just needed to watch the kiddos a bit more closely, but there were no injuries! :)

Those veggie cups are super cute! For our Christmas party this weekend I am making homemade peanut butter cups, bacon wrapped prunes, salmon dip, shortbread sandwiches with raspberry curd and trialling something akin to a strawberry croquembouche... We'll see how that goes.
Have you thought about something like a cob loaf dip with GF bread? http://homecooking.about.com/od/dipandspreadrecipes/r/blapp106.htm
Little shooters of soup can be nice too, or single serve Mac and cheeses.
Far too hot here for any of that at the moment here!

Is this a kid's party? I can't wait to try fruit mosaics when LO is older. http://weekofmenus.blogspot.ca/2009/05/school-birthday-treats-its-okay-to-rock.html

My fave dip that's always well received is this one: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Crabmeat-Apple-and-Mango-Salad-on-Cumin-Apple-Chips-105400
(I use artificial crabmeat, which i know you may not be a fan of, but it works well. I also serve it with raincoast crisps!)

I also do meatball sliders (http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2009/02/meatball-sliders/), and rice with thai chicken curry in mini chinese takeout containers. :)

I did veggie cups like that for a bridal shower I just helped host! I only did carrots & celery though bc I knew the guests wouldn't care for any peppers.

I also did fruit kabobs, some yummy sweet & spicy meatballs that I'm sure could easily be GF, & a cheese ball.

Here's a pic of muh kabobs.

What is your go-to party food for birthdays/parties? I want food that is attractive, easy to prepare and relatively healthy.

I for sure want to do these adorable veggie cups! Not sure what else... a lot of people in my family are GF so I try to avoid most grains...

ideas?
