When DS was first born DH wasn't very comfortable. But at 13 weeks I went back to work and DH started his summer vacation from teaching, so he was home full time with DS. I had to just let go an let him figure it out. He's amazing, but doesn't like to go out and can't multi task as well.

DH can take care of LO for a few hours without any problems, but I have to make sure to prep and leave instructions for meals and give him a time frame for naps. He does a good job, and LO loves spending time with him. I try to encourage DH to leave the house to go on small outings, but he is not ready yet.

My wonderful, strong, and caring husband did so well with our daughter. He even stayed at home with her for her first year, while I went back to work (he was in school in the evenings). Now that our second baby is here, my DH is working full time and has spent little time with both of them on his own. He complains when I don't get things from the grocery store (ie cases of soda), yet he has never left the house with both of them by himself! He is pretty awesome though :)

He's amazing with just the Toddler, learning to handle just the baby pretty well. Still a bit much to leave him with both though :) I mean he survives, but finds it hard. And, seriously? It is hard, I'm just used to it.

Lol! I told him how cute he was just now and he says he's not cute. I ask why and he claims he got no sleep. You had sleep last night, I tell him. He says, but only 1 hour at a time. "That's what I go through all the time," I say.

He responds, "But I don't like it."

Hahaha!

Yes! DH will come home from work after I've been taking care of LO all day long, then he does it for 20 minutes and he's exhausted and wants a break. Ummm...... I've been doing this for 8 hours. I get the break!

I left him last night for three hours and I came home and he hadn't even eaten dinner (it was 9pm), the house was a disaster, and the baby was still awake, two hours past her bedtime. he told me it was the hardest three hours of his life.

DH was in charge of taking care of the baby today and he's had such a hard time! I can't help but laugh! This is what I deal with day-to-day while he's at work and it's been 1 day and by mid-morning he's already been complaining. Lol, he's been acting pathetic all day! Well I just checked and found both of them passed out in front of the TV. It's so cute!

Does your SO have a hard time taking care of your LO?
