Albeit it took a while to learn to position her, and she peed all over the place... But DH already had the camera, we had great lighting in the house that day, and I had gathered some props within the house. Really happy we didn't shell out $ for professional pictures. I think they came out really well, but at the same time, I had pretty low expectations. If they were looking to get into photography or something and wanted to do a full photo shoot, free is awesome. But if they just want to snap a few and it's important to have nice newborn and family photos, pay a pro. </p> <p>I did not do newborn photos for my first, don't regret it. I did do them for our second and most likely last, and I'm really happy to have them. But I wanted the family photos more than the individual newborn photos. We took our own at the hospital but paid someone to come 10 days later at our home. The pro ones were totally different than the ones we could have taken ourselves and I was happy to splurge on those. A friend told us he wanted to take some pictures for us. Well he ended up coming only hours after I gave birth. I looked terrible and I only have one picture of me holding my son and one of my husband holding our son.
