Both of those rates are pre-tax. I think you can spend $12-15 per hour. We pay $12ish for single child, $18 when both toddlers in our nanny share are there (so $9/hr per fam). We live outside of Philly (the areas around us can be pretty expensive) and most of the people I have looked into have asked for $15-20 an hour, as well. My DH will also be home. The caregiver will need to help DH prepare his own lunch, but otherwise he is independent and can help by holding and feeding DS.</p> <p>I'm looking to pay something in the range of $15-20/hr. We live in a Chicago suburb, not a super affluent area. What sounds like a fair rate for someone with experience with infants?</p> <p>ETA: I also would expect the person to do dishes and laundry as time allows. </p>
