We have a travel rewards card. Bleh, yeah, that would rub me a little wrong too, but not enough to deter me from the convenience of auto pay. haha, I saw that on the mortgage too. They have a grace period of like 3-5 days I think before they start to charge you extra for paying 'late'. I never understood that too. The only bills we can't pay with credit card are electric, mortgage and car payment. We pay the bill in full every month so its just a way to accumulate lots of miles quickly. Which is probably a week or two before the actual due date? I know it's minor but still annoys me. Our mortgage gave me the option of due date, 7 days after or something like 14 days after. You can specify when you want to pay, a specific date or just when it's due. We charge everything we can on our CC for the cash back. We do pay our balance off every month though so it's not like we're going in to debt for it. We get 2% cash back on all recurring bills charged to our card. That's free money yo! Anything that can be paid via credit card is (auto pay), and then the credit card is auto paid every month (in full, we never carry a balance). 1% cashback! I hate having to call the creditors and utilities when I change bank accounts. Some companys email the balance, and some you have to go online to check. I started doing this after I missed a payment because I never got the bill. My old method was, receive paper bill, schedule payment. I didn't get one for some reason one month, and ended up not paying it, so I decided that method was no good.
