My LO had one earlier this year. My pediatrician had me mix equal parts of Dr. Beaudreaux triple paste (red tube), A&amp;D ointment and hydrocortisone and apply after every diaper change, and to keep applying a few days after the spots disappeared to make sure the infection was gone. He didn't really seem bothered by it but he's only 11 months so hard to tell. </p> <p>Turns out it was a yeast infection. Canesten cleared it right up, as per my docs instructions. She said to use it 3 times per day for up to two weeks. I noticed this evening after daycare that his penis is red, starting at the base (which is the redest) and all the way up with some mini dots on it in a sporadic pattern. Also, the base is swollen. He won't stop itching. </p> <p>My lack of penis is making me freak out and think holy cow! every time I look at it. Should I call the pediatrician? </p>
