I think we had two people give items that were not on our registry (out of 60ish people at our shower.) However, we also got a bunch of gifts from people not invited to our shower and then gifts after the baby was born and those were all not on the registry. I guess it would be more from the registry.</p> <p>My two showers (one with friends, one with just 5 family members at a coffee shop) were both small, intimate, and casual. Very few (like 2-3) people got us just a non-registry gift. I found uses for most things. We used extra receiving blankets as burp rags because our LO1 had terrible reflux. The outfits that weren't my taste went to daycare or in the diaper bag as a back up outfit. The things that were out of season didn't get worn however we had LO2 in the opposite season and they are both girls so now we are getting use out of those items. I will say our friends and family were so generous when we had LO1 and I am so grateful, but we have received almost nothing for LO2. We flew home for our shower. (We registered at Babylist.com and allowed us to put items from Amazon, BBB, BRU, Target, IKEA, etsy where shipping was mostly free.) </p> <p>We didn't know what to expect but thought since we are having twins that people would buy us clothes because it was light enough to put in our luggage.</p> <p>We did get a bunch of things off our registry but it was more in the 25-30% range. Ehh, actually maybe it was closer to the 35-40% range. We got double stroller, baby monitors, both car seats, swing, twin pack and play, rock n play, umbrella strollers, baby thermometer, an IKEA gift card which would get us one of our cribs or ikea baby gear, I got BRU gift cards and cash.<br /> So with all the gift cards and cash, I would say we can get about 60% or more of our registry.</p> <p>As for all the clothes we got, we will definitely use them all. I actually think we still might need more clothes but I'm buying more from fellow twin moms.<br /> ETA: my percentage keeps getting bumped up because some of the stuff on our registry are smaller (less costly) items left but overall, we are so blessed at all the gifts we received. (Oh, also, I have been adding things to our list to buy so I can take advantage of the completion discount.)<br /> I do have to say that my brother and SIL handed down their city select stroller with second seat and accessories and that alone cost them $700 or more to buy. I registered for a cheaper double stroller because I couldn't see myself putting somethung that expensive on our registry when there was a cheaper stroller available.
