I came off depo in Oct (it wore off in Oct last injection in August) (ready to TTC in April this year) and I am so glad I did... I didn't stop bleeding for 8 weeks. Thou my body seems to have regulated now... I am assuming the excessive bleeding was because I didn't really get periods on the depo just a day or 2 of spotting in the week the depo was due again.

So I'd say after 3-4 months I've regulated (and I was on it for nearly 2 years). Another girl I've been chatting to on another site had similar issues in a similar timeframe as me and she is saying she has regulated as much as she can tell now too.

I have heard it can take up to a year after coming off depo to conceive so I'm trying to not get my hopes up - but on the other hand I have heard of people getting pregnant on it as they were a day or 2 late for their injections. It's hard to pick...

I hope that everything regulates for you soon and as PPs have said you don't need a regular cycle to get pregnant so fingers crossed it happens for you soon :)

@TurtleDoves: I don't think we'll ever know for sure, but that was my doctor's guess!

I was on the drop for 3 years.
Doctor told me it would take 6m to conceive after coming off. We tried right away anyways but just as the doctor predicted, I didn't conceive until 6 months later. My period never regulated! I just used O strips because "28day cycles" meant nothing in my world.
Anyways: take some b6 supplements! My doctor put me on them because she said that the uterine lining, where the egg implants and grows, is going to be extremely thin for all women coming off of the depo. B6 should help.
It didn't help me and I actually needed progesterone supplements to "grow" my lining soon after I got that BFP because it hadn't had enough time to really thicken and I had a big chance of loosing baby.
Anyways- good luck!!! Just because your cycle is everywhere doesn't mean you can't get pregnant;)

I was on depo for 9 years. Came off twice just too see if period came back, then went back on. I cam off so we could TTC August 2011, 1st period that October, 27 or 28 day cycles until our BFP in January, loss, and then BFP in Feb and Oct baby.

I kinda wish I went back on it and didn't go for Mirena, I also got my period right away pp, and it hasn't really stopped since the IUD went in, in December.

I recently went of depo so we can TTC LO #2. I got my period pretty much right after LO was born even though I was breastfeeding so I went in depo. I was only on depo a short time and since coming off depo my period is all over the place. Was anyone else on depo? How long to regulate? I never stopped having my period while on depo.
