@Banana330: I had one normal cycle (after the long one after my IUD) and then another longish one - but I weaned that month (though had only been doing 1x day) so that was probably the reason. The cycle after that I started opks because I wasn't sure what was going in and we clearly weren't pregnant yet so I had another longish cycle but did O and the next 2 have been on track like pre-preg. In the TWW for cycle 6 now so fingers crossed! So basically I think it just took 1-2 funky cycles to get back to normal. Weaning just complicated it a bit.

@MenagerieMama: How have your periods been since?

I got my IUD out about 30 days ago.. I use to have 28 day cycles before baby, (got my IUD like you 8 weeks pp and now 16 months pp). No sign of AF and I'm wondering what, if anything I should do... I'll give it a few more weeks but i'm hoping after that things will be good.

I had some spotting for a few days post removal and then it took awhile (a month or so) to get a period.

@cookiemomster: Oh yikes, I would have gone bananas! Did it seem to be pretty normal after that? I'm just hoping this was a one off thing and cycles going forward will be normal.

Update should anyone look this up in the future. Got my period today! Just a day shy of 6 weeks after my IUD removal. Hopefully things will be back to normal now but I suppose only time will tell! I think I can at least safely say we're out of the NTNP phase and more TTC ;)

My period came right back like clockwork following removal of my IUD. But it has always been like clockwork and I wasn't breastfeeding, which I'm sure can impact things!

@FancyGem: a little over a year? Got it at 8 wk pp and LO is almost 18 mo. My last one was in for almost 5 years so I'm wondering if that's why there's a delay this time.

@MenagerieMama: I was crampy for about 2 weeks after having it removed. Based on my charts, I think I ovulated after I had it removed. My husband said that he noticed that I wasn't really in the mood to have sex last week. lol Now I feel pms symptoms coming.
Hopefully, your cycle comes soon. :) Maybe our bodies are trying to get back on track. How long did you have your Mirena?

@FancyGem: hopefully yours isn't delayed! Maybe it's good to plan ahead ;) I was super PMS-y around the 30 day mark and then...nothing. So weird!

I had my iud removed about 3 weeks ago. I'm still waiting on my period. It feels like it is about to come. We have used protection and all of my pregnancy tests came back negative. We do not plan to ttc until Dec./Jan.

I got my Mirena IUD out 1/29, had a light period 2 days after, and I would have expected my period by now, but nothing! My 17 mo old is still breastfeeding once per day (was twice until about 2 wks ago), but I didn't think that would be enough to affect anything. We haven't been protecting but weren't really going to "try" until April. I've taken several pregnancy tests which have all been negative and I don't feel pregnant. My period before (and after my first IUD removal) were like clockwork every 30 days (maybe +/- 1 day) and now it's been over 5 wks.

Anyone have a period lazy returning after IUD removal? Or not getting a period until completely weaned? Now I'm just super paranoid about something being wrong with my fertility!
