@Mrs. Blue: most babies test positive for c diff. I don't test babies under a year unless there is a darn good reason.

@coacheswife123: We've been through the same kind of thing for the last couple weeks, but just found out today (from a stool sample and lab work) that at least one of them has c diff, though the ped can't really figure out how they got it since they have't been on many antibiotics. All this to say, I totally sympathize about just wanting them to feel better! It's sucks. Hope LO feels better quickly!

@coacheswife123: Don't tell anyone, but I've even given adult ones to my kids! (Walgreens generic capsules that I open and sprinkle on what they are eating)

I usually get ones with Lactobacillus, because that's what I'm familiar with. I've never gotten one with sacchromyces.... but should be a similar mechanism.

@Mrs. Jacks: any experience with florastor kids probiotic ? We love bio Gaia drops but the pharmacy is out. I don't see an age indicator on the florastor kids packets - DS is almost 10 months

Normal. Probiotics or a lot of yogurt can help repopulate the gut with normal flora so that absorption of nutrients can get back to normal. (It's probably not still the virus, but damage to the brush border of the intestines).

DS had a stomach bug (vomiting) on Thursday and Friday. He is still dealing with diarrhea almost a week later. Normal?

He has no fever and is playful although a little clingy. He's having wet dipes and taking his bottles and solids fine so I'm not concerned about dehydration. Yesterday almost every time he had his diaper changed there was a little poo in there. Just tiny squirts. Today he hasn't had that but has had more substantial poops in terms of volume but they are still runny.

His little bum bum is so so red even though we are changing him the instant he is wet or dirty. i'm going to do a baking soda bath tonight.

I also dropped a dipe off with his ped for a stool sample. I just want his tummy back to normal.

Anyone else deal with this?
