@petunia354: we did a layer of monistat cream, then cortisone cream, then Boudreauxs naturals butt paste. Stuff with corn starch in it feeds the yeast so read labels. Sunshine and no diper time helped too.

I had to make a homemade diaper rash cream to get rid of P's!

Equal parts of Aquaphor (skin protectant), Lotrimin (yeast), & Neosporin (she had sores from it) with Maloxx (for the acidity of her poo/pee) until I got the consistency I wanted. We also used a blow dryer on low/cool at each diaper change & did alot of baking soda soaks. We used the cream for a full 5 days after the rash cleared up to make sure it was gone & also started P on a probiotic to make sure the yeast stayed in check. I also added tto to her wipe spray to help ward off yeast.

Our doc prescribes a hydrocortisone cream and it clears it up within a day usually!

nystatin didn't do much for us, clotrimazole usually took care of it in a few days. thin layer under diaper cream (we used triple paste).

@Mrsbells: that's what we used too after battling a yeast rash. It worked great when nothing else did.

@Mrsbells: Wow, I've never seen this before. I'll definitely be asking our Ped about it at his 9 month appointment next week. Thanks so much!

Triple paste AF, this is not the same as the regular triple paste in the store. Ask your LO's pediatrician about it. it really worked for us

How did you get rid of a persistent yeast rash in the diaper area? We've been using Nystatin cream on and off for a couple months but it just keeps coming back.
