We rented part of their dining room. I think our total budget was $1k. We really wanted to throw a big celebration and do all the traditional Korean things, and the grandparents loved it. I think we had about 50 people and the food was awesome. We also got a huge 2-tiered cake, fondant-covered cake from our favorite bakery. We knew we wanted to do a big party for his dol (1 year) so we started saving and preparing when he was 6 months old. </p> <p>I think we did it smartly... spent most of the money on food and the cake.
