Totally. My almost 4-year-old golden retriever was my first born. :) We used to go to the dog park almost every day no matter the weather. Now, that definitely doesn't happen. I do take him to doggy day care a few times a month but it's expensive. It does help with the guilt a little bit! I'm hoping we get out more when winter is over, but I can't really walk him alone with a baby so we usually have to wait until my husband gets home from work. I have ventured to the dog park with the baby but I also feel a bit nervous doing that, so it's a rarity.

Even in this moment, he's being super mopey! Ugh!

Absolutely! My cat is 15, but one good thing is that my D (2.5) has become her buddy, actually playing with her and brushing her, so at least she has a 3rd person paying attention to her. Plus I SAH, so really, I'm around a lot more than before LO even if I'm not directly giving her attention!

Yes, absolutely! I got her in 2006, and had DD 2014 so she was my baby for a long, long time.

My consolation is that she's older (10 yrs old now), and doesn't need as much activity. And her personality is cat like anyway... She likes attention but not too much.

But I feel so guilty for yelling at her all the time

YES. I feel hugely guilty about it too. I also get SUPER annoyed with him more often than that, because he frequently whines/screeches and wakes the baby up. It drives me crazy, and yet I feel so bad for him. I just don't have the time or energy that I used to, and I know in my heart that he feels sad.

We have had our dog for 6 years, she was around before our children, she was like my first born child. I know (sadly) that our relationship has changed since having the girls. I still love her, I'm her owner, she curls up with me at night, but I feel sad that I don't give her the love she used to get. I sometimes look at her and wonder if she's sad.

Anyone else have this guilt? She is a huge part of our family (she sleeps with us, the girls love her/she tolerate them haha) but I still feel guilt!
