My almost 4-year-old golden retriever was my first born. :) We used to go to the dog park almost every day no matter the weather. Now, that definitely doesn't happen. I do take him to doggy day care a few times a month but it's expensive. It does help with the guilt a little bit! I'm hoping we get out more when winter is over, but I can't really walk him alone with a baby so we usually have to wait until my husband gets home from work. I have ventured to the dog park with the baby but I also feel a bit nervous doing that, so it's a rarity.</p> <p>Even in this moment, he's being super mopey! My cat is 15, but one good thing is that my D (2.5) has become her buddy, actually playing with her and brushing her, so at least she has a 3rd person paying attention to her. I got her in 2006, and had DD 2014 so she was my baby for a long, long time.</p> <p>My consolation is that she's older (10 yrs old now), and doesn't need as much activity. And her personality is cat like anyway... I feel hugely guilty about it too. I also get SUPER annoyed with him more often than that, because he frequently whines/screeches and wakes the baby up. It drives me crazy, and yet I feel so bad for him. I know (sadly) that our relationship has changed since having the girls. I still love her, I'm her owner, she curls up with me at night, but I feel sad that I don't give her the love she used to get. I sometimes look at her and wonder if she's sad.</p> <p>Anyone else have this guilt? She is a huge part of our family (she sleeps with us, the girls love her/she tolerate them haha) but I still feel guilt! </p>
