No advice on re-homing but with regards to your dogs' behavior: What about talking to a dog behaviorist? We had a person come in to help us with our anxiety-driven dog who is fear-based and can show fear-aggression towards strangers. She helped us with calming techniques and possible reasons why he behaves the way he does. He's on prozac, too - something I wasn't keen on but I have noticed that it has helped him be calmer and less barky.

To answer your question: yes, we had a dog we had to rehome because it turned out she had aggression issues and no bite inhibition. She definitely had potential but could not be in our home with 3 other animals and a future LO. Our older dog was getting attacked on a regular basis. We got her through a rescue so they took her back and she is hopefully in a much better home situation now.

Where did you get your dogs from? Pretty much all rescues and reputable breeders should take their animals back if there are issues.

However, I would definitely look into options for training and managing the situation. I know when we brought LO home we really had to make sure the dogs were getting enough exercise and would schedule in dog park visits, etc, or else they would start to go stir crazy and drive everyone bonkers! They got a little neglected before we got our new routine underway. Can you work on some ways to let out their energy? Make sure potty breaks aren't missed? Even bark collars (not a huge fan but better than rehoming!)?

I did. One of ours was starting to get aggressive and pick fights with the others. I could not have that with children around. I called the woman that works at our vet's office that fosters animals. I got the dog through her. The vets ex- girlfriend ended up taking her and it worked great. She actually had another dog from the same litter. I would call your vet and see if they know anyone.

We just had our second child in September, and since our two dogs have been driving me BONKERS. Their behavior is just too much for me to handle. Last night/this morning has been the straw that broke the camel's back. The dogs kept barking in their kennel and waking up the baby. I got up at 4:30am and let them outside, then there was poop all over my floor, which has been an increasing problem. The younger one also peed on the baby last week.

They are two super sweet pomeranians, but I just CAN NOT handle it right now.

Have you ever rehomed a dog? How? I really, really want to make sure they go to a good family and the pound is not an option.
