@kiddosc: Sort of, haha! Thanks for the suggestion! I think I am just going to go with Fertility Friend says and stop over analyzing everything!

@Happygal: Thanks again! I just printed out all my charts and I will let the doctor look at them and make her own conclusions! It's just so hard for me to sit back - I am such an obsessive person! I like knowing all the facts and being on top of everything. I just had a GYN appointment to get the referral to see an infertility specialist. So I didn't get any new information, but I will be seeing a specialist and begin that whole process, which is a good step and makes me feel like at least I am moving forward :)

@Mrs. Chickadee: I just looked around a bit and there does seem to be mixed info! FertilityFriend counts ovulation as part of the luteal phase.

I think being able to share your average will be good enough for a starting point with your doctor. They will do tests that give a lot of information about what's happening during your cycles! When is your doctor's appointment?

It sounds like ovulation is day 0 of your LP... you wouldn't just start with day 1 when you count your LP. So FP is from CD1, up to ovulation and then ovulation happens and then you would count the next day as day 1 because 1 whole day had passed since you ovulated. Make sense?

@Happygal: Thanks! The thing is, the American Pregnancy Association doesn't really give an answer :( Honestly the truth is that it doesn't even matter. I just couldn't find a straight answer on my Googling attempts, so I thought the bees would know! I feel like everyone on HB is an expert on all things TTC, haha! I usually just let Fertility Friend figure out my LP, but I was being extra crazy looking at my charts and was trying to check the numbers for FP and LP, etc. I have a doctors appointment to begin going down the infertility treatments road and wanted to have all my info straight!

@Mrs. Chickadee: I would stick with whatever the American Pregnancy Association says and keep it simple!

I'm curious--what are you trying to figure out with this info? Like how long your average LP is?

I'm back because I'm confused again! So I was reading the pages from those links and they are actually don't really clear things up.The first one (duofertility) has the cycle in three phases where ovulation is it's own thing. The second site (americanpregnancy) has a vague description that says the FP is CD1 up until the day of ovulation and the LP is from the day of ovulation until the last day before AF. I have seen similar things on other sites too. So none of them really say which phase (if any!) ovulation belongs to. Thoughts?

This is so interesting! Good to know - I was actually answering questions from a guy friend about lady cycles (he doesn't know we're TTC) and I didn't know where to tell him ovulation belonged.

Ovulation= LP Day 1.

I know that the follicular phase is before ovulation and that the luteal phase is after. Is ovulation counted in one of these phases or is it it's own thing? Just trying to crunch some numbers before my doctors appointment :) Thanks!!!
