I end interviews pretty quickly if someone has a dull and monotone voice.</p> <p>Try to be at home for the call so and eliminate any background noise...babies, pets, laundry machine, dishwasher, cell, family members. You are probably thinking, well duh! That's all they have to go by. But a huge pet peeve of mine is when people say "umm" or "uhh" a lot. I think on the phone we tend to be more relaxed too, so just be conscious of that! If you need time to think, just pause for a few seconds, think, and then talk. If you have to do your interview in front of a mirror so that you remember do it. It sounds strange....but its the best advice I can give. </p> <p>Act as though you are there in person. Dress up and be prepared just like if you got called in. </p> <p>Have your resume in front of you so that you can talk about it fluidly without stumbling. In every phone interview I was asked to walk them through my resume.
