I picked her first lovey- at 6 months when we sleep trained. She's super attached to it still at 26 months. She's chosen a few more since then that also sleep with her.

I had 2 very thin blankets that my mom bought that I started putting in the crib with my daughter when she started flipping over and sleeping on her tummy (around 7 months). I was using them to cover her up gently, but she would toss around and after a while they turned into loveys. Those are still her cues to sleep (she's almost 2). One is starting to get holes from all the wear and I can't find the same one anywhere so hopefully it lasts a while still.

@lamariniere: The other night he was sleeping on his stomach with his hands under his head, still holding a measuring cup. It was really funny.

My daughter became attached to a specific blanket around 4-5 months. It was a gift and I didn't really like it and tried to introduce another lovey but she wasn't having it.

I didn't vote.

LO1 - I tried to introduce a lovey several times and he wasn't interested until he was 18 months! It was a teddy bear that I picked. After that, he also got interested in an AA lovey and an AA swaddle (I picked those too).

LO2 - Again, I tried introducing one really young, around 4 months. She's almost 18 months and isn't interested at all.

@ShootingStar: haha, that's funny, but probably not comfortable to sleep with!

I wanted to vote for two because I chose one but he didn't take to it. He picked his own later. I chose a A&A lovey but he decided on a Wubanub. He doesn't suck on it, just holds it.

My child's kind of a weirdo. I had a bunch of those little lovey blankies and he wanted nothing to do with them. Instead he's started getting really attached to plastic spoons and measuring cups. I don't really get it.

I bought him a Sophie giraffe and it came with a stuffed animal giraffe also. Around 10 or 11 months he decided that was what he wanted to sleep with. He has other loveys and he likes them, but for some reason that giraffe is what he likes to cuddle when he goes to sleep. Before that he loved his Wubbanubs.

I picked a couple different stuffed animals and he couldn't care less. His A&A blankets became his loveys and it's so convenient (because I have 8 of them...he's partial to stars, but he'll take a different one when it needs to be washed).

I picked. I laid all of them over my face and chose the most breathable one :) I actually hesitated because it was not my favorite cuteness-wise but I went for safety!

I voted that she wasn't interested but it just took time. She would snuggle him but she would also snuggle anything else. We just kept at it and it really came in handy when we started daycare at 10 months. Now she is very attached to him though if he wanders off for a day or two she's totally fine.

I have some really sweet stuffed animals and the little blanket official lovey things. But I like the idea of him picking his own! But does it really help comfort them in the crib? Cause in that case I am guessing I would start around 6 mo with close supervision at first. Ive read some posts about introducing them by holding it when you nurse them, mama sleeping with it, etc.

One more thing to overthink!
