@agold: That’s thing he loves all the things we may have but won’t eat it right now. He just says “no”! 😞

@Portboston: Yes! He was doing so good and now it’s been a hassle. Driving me nuts! @KT326: Thank you! I’ve been making him bento boxes with variety of gongs that I know he will eat. It’s been helping somewhat. He’s eating more!

@cake2017: For my 2 year old, I tend to look at what he has eaten over a 2-3 day period. There will be days where he eats hardly anything and days where I feel like I am constantly feeding him. Some days he eats a wide variety, some days all he wants is yogurt and strawberries. It's just another one of the many phases kids go through. My 7 year old can be picky, but he knows he has to at least try it before he says he doesn't like it.

My 2.5 year old is getting very picky. And just the last few nights, she actually didn't eat any dinner at all! But I make sure she has a good breakfast and lunch. Her doctor says this is okay. She's got some weight to spare! :silly: I hope things improve though. I keep putting the food on her plate - its even things I know she likes!

@Portboston: this was totally true for my oldest - she was on that same schedule you mention and did get much better around 5.5-6! I really did not think she would ever get better, and she’s still not the most amazing eater, but is so so much better. Now it gives me hope for my 4yo!

Also my 4yo just doesn’t eat a lot of the time. He really only likes lunch and sometimes not even that. We don’t fight it. I seriously don’t know how it works calorie wise because he’s around 95th %ile for height and maybe 80th for weight (when he was under 3, he was equally tall but below 50th weight. So he grew into it without me really seeing a change in his eating!)

I've brought up similar concerns with the ped, who says it's super normal and that as long as he's getting enough fluids to have regular wet diapers, not to worry. Ped said if he consistently won't eat an entire food group, to just give him a multi-vitamin, keep offering, and don't sweat it...

My almost 4 year old used to eat whatever we put in front of him as a baby. Around 18 months he started getting picky and now at almost 4, he’ll eat only a handful of foods. I’ve heard it gets better around 6. I have a friend who’s daughter refuses to eat foods that are orange or brown. Toddlers are crazy.

@LemonJack: Thank you! I’m hoping this ends quickly! I’ve been doing bento boxes for him and that seems to help. How long did it take for your daughter to start eating again her normal foods????

@cake2017: I think this is super common around this age. My older daughter went through a phase where she was rejecting foods she’d always liked. We kept up with giving her a variety of things and she eventually got over it.

I’m going crazy! LO is not eating much and he use to eat a variety. I keep offering but he won’t budge. It’s been approximately 2 weeks right after his little stomach ache and it seems like he has been different when it comes to eating. He says no and it seems like he snacks... tonight he ate scrambled eggs, milk and yogi. At school, he doesn’t eat much but a pouch, bar and fruit or whatever I send he picks... I don’t want him losing weight and I don’t want him to not eat and go to bed hungry. He eats breakfast every morning- waffles, yogurt, cheese and milk.... any suggestions, does it get better?

We eat dinner every night together at the table- there’s a routine it’s just he won’t eat as much....
