I haven't had any experience with this but like previous posters, I would just call your OB for peace of mind.

@ladyfingers: It may have been caused by it...but it didn't come from that side : ) I get hemorrhoids too...they're awesome.

I just wanted to say I know what you mean about the 24-week point! I'm 20 weeks today and it takes everything I have to not pull my hair out waiting for viability.

Are you sure the spotting was not from the BM? Probably a silly question since I'm sure you double-check wiped the vaginal rather than back area, but I've noticed some pink spotting when I have a BM lately but I think I have mild hemorrhoids because even though I'll have some on the paper when I first wipe front to back, there's never anything there when I wipe just the vaginal area to double check. And I've had some issues "finishing" my BMs so I'm sure that the straining has been creating some issues back there.

Just wanted to send positive thoughts your way (I remember your struggles from the WB days . . .). I'm sure everything is fine, and if the nurse isn't concerned, I wouldn't be either (easier said than done, I know!).

@Mrs Green Grass: i have had a few spotting issues through this pregnancy (I'm 35 weeks now)... i had spotting early, like 7 weeks, then, around 20, then 24 weeks I had spotting, one time was brown, and the other time was pink.... I was treating a yeast infection one of the times, and the monistat turned out to be irritating to my cervix. The other time I had a YI as well. I freaked of course... I ended up going in just to be safe. I have a SUPER sensitive cervix, so the docs/midwives have told me, so even just having the yeast infection & not treating it was causing some spotting. I have read that a BM can irritate as well.... Just keep an eye on it & call if it will make you feel better!

Yikes, that's scary! I think some spotting is really common, though--they ask me about it every time I go in for an appointment. As long as it's not heavy like a period, the odds are in your favor that's it's nothing to worry about!

Ok, I called. She says if it continues to come in, otherwise, it's ok. Nothing puts my mind at ease though since I want to know WHY!

But I do like hearing stories of others who have had the same issue and it was fine. That helps some.

I'm not a big stresser, but these last 2 weeks waiting for viability just amp up the anxiety a little! (And having a blogger I follow have her water break at 23 weeks...she lost the baby. I just can't imagine!)

I had minor spotting that was pink as well. It was at about 17 weeks. Happened about every 2 - 3 days for around 2 weeks. It was pink at first, and towards the end of the two weeks, on one day it was actually red. Then on the last day of it, I passed a very small clot and all the spotting stopped. I had called my midwives when it happened more than once and they sent me for an ultrasound. I ended up having two ultrasounds over the two weeks and both showed no issues whatsoever and it was no problem at all.

My suggestion is if you are worried, that's reason enough to call your doc. and get an ultrasound. There is nothing better than peace of mind. If it makes you feel better, know that my spotting was absolutely nothing bad at all. It seems spotting can often be totally unexplained and just one of those things that happens sometimes.

Go ahead and call your OB. I'm 30 weeks and have had plenty of spotting through out my whole pregnancy. It has never been anything more than just my sensitive cervix. But your doc will always want to know about any bleeding in the second or third trimester just to be safe.

I know the cervix is really sensitive when you're pregnant.. Stress, sex, lots of different things can cause it.

This morning I had some light pink spotting when I went to the bathroom. (I wiped like 8 times just to see if it'd go away and although it got lighter, it was still there.) I also had a BM and may've pushed a little hard, but still it's never happened before.

There wasn't any the second time I went to the bathroom.

I haven't had any spotting in a couple of months and even then, it wasn't pink. I'm kind of freaking out, but mostly think it's nothing. Even so, it's ruining my day!

I wasn't planning on going in to the doctor unless it continues through the afternoon. What do you think and have you had a minor spotting incident that meant nothing?
