@Running Elley: Can you call the doctor and ask? I'd be concerned about the fluctuating levels thing too. I'm sure he/she has a reason for it, but you should understand it too! I almost always sent emails to my nurse to clarify after appointments :)

@MerryC: That's the thing…from what I've found via Dr. Google ;) it seems like I’m on the same dosage that the every day-ers are on. I found someone else asking a similar question on another forum and one of the responders had a good point…if I’m only doing it twice a week wouldn't my progesterone levels fluctuate up and down throughout the week? That just doesn't seem right to me. I trust my doctor but sometimes it's so hard when I'm such an over-researcher!

I stayed on prometrium the whole time, but I think following ivf, anyone taking pio usually does it 1-2x per day. But I don't know the dosage. Twice per week sounds like not very much to me, but maybe it's a higher dosage than when it's taken every day?

Because of my low progesterone issues I started the pregnancy off just on prometrium suppositories. We eventually upped my dose of that when I had some very very slight spotting but my doctor made the decision this week to switch me to PIO (progesterone in oil) injections. From what I've read most ladies who use them for after/during IVF get a shot every day. My doctor is having me take the shot twice a week? Does anyone else have any experience with this? If you've gone the twice a week route what was the outcome, did it help your pregnancy?
