@Paddington10: I had this and it was truly terrifying. However, if your doctor hasn't mentioned it, I wouldn't worry about it too much since you can see on the ultrasound that the uterus and placenta lose definition between each other. The warning signs for the doctor to order more detailed ultrasounds are prior history of c-section plus a placenta previa.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have a placenta previa and have had frequent monitoring for signs of accreta, since I'm more at risk. I'm not too worried. Seriously, step away from Google. Thinking positively about your birth can have great effects!! 🌞

Google is truly evil, I know. I am just so mad at this facialist. I mean really, who brings this up in a spa appt? I doubt I'd even know about the condition otherwise!

You're going to drive yourself crazy if you keep thinking about all the "what-ifs?" Step away from Google and try to just enjoy your pregnancy.

Oh no! Step away from the Google!!! I had a prior c-section and had no issue with this whatsoever. That's not to say you wouldn't get it 100% but step away from the computer! When I was pregnant I worried about medical complications too that I had no risk of too. I was just going to tell you which ones I worried about for no reason but then I decided I better not, in case I added more to your list!

Does anyone have experience with this condition?
Google is bad. I think I posted this elsewhere -- long before I was pregnant, I got a facial and the facialist told me, in passing, that her friend died of it in child birth.

Since then, I have been thinking about it and fixating on it. (I have anxiety anyway!)

Basically your placenta implants too deeply in your uterus, which can cause massive bleeding and damage to nearby organs, depending on how deeply it implants. Googling it is...not the most fun thing to do.

The scary part is, it is often undetected until you go into labor.

Hmm, point of the post -- looking for reassurance or info from people who know about it? I should say there's no reason I might have it (except for a prior C section, which can up your risk), it's just one of those horrible pregnancy things to read about and freak out about. :bummed:
