I would try to invite the friends to one party and only if a friend declined maybe offer the other date.

The only reason I would split friends up would be if you were inviting two different friend groups. Say a adult friends group and a daycare friends group. You could do the close family friends to one party and the daycare friends to the other.

I would also invite all friends to one party. That way the other one can be smaller and just family. I had two baby showers because each grandmother had their own ideas. They get along great, just decided on two showers instead of one huge one. My mom invited my friends to her's because she knew them better. In this case, I asked that our moms and sisters be invited to both so you could do that for close family members if it makes sense.

Is one side of the family smaller than the other? Or does one host have a larger space than the other? I'd invite all the friends to that party if possible. I would think most of your friends would want to go to a party that other friends are at?

We didn't do printed invites after the 1st party. Just e-mail or texting to make sure everyone knew when the party was.

Sounds like it will be a fun couple weeks!

So our intent was to have one party but now it looks like we will have two parties. At the moment, they will be a week apart! Whoah!

Each side of the family has their reasons for wanting a particular date so we are having two.
It's going to be hosted by family on each side.

Anyone do this? Twins will be 2.

Not sure if we will do printed invites. Trying to keep this low key for both hosts and us.

For inviting friends, do I just tell them we are having both parties and they can attend whichever one works for them?

ETA: I know this can be a common issue with some having a kids party and a separate party for relatives/family.

Any tips?

Both parties will be in PA where almost all of our friends and family are.
